The day was so glorious! This is such a pretty area.
We saw four wild horses today. This little filly let me get so close to her. She was painfully thin...and alone. I hope she's not a lost pet. She kept licking this rock...I wanted to take her home.
The other three horses were sleek and sassy. Two mares and a colt. THEY wouldn't let us anywhere near them. I saw them from a hill away, but Papabear didn't. He came upon them and freaked out thinking that the black mare was a BEAR! I got a giggle out of that. There's no way a bear could EVER outrun a quad. In fact, unless it was a pretty pissed off Mamabear, I think the sound of a quad would scare them off before we could even see them.

We started in Cold Creek Canyon....Drove up to Willow Springs....Over Wheeler Pass and down into Spring Mountain Recreational Park. According to the GPS, we were about 6 miles from Parumph. Papa Figures we were gone for about 5 hrs and traveled about 15 miles. HARD miles. That place is all rock/boulder country. I think I jiggled my arms off.
The sage was all in bloom, so I played with the macro button on my camera.
Beee my Friend.....
Anyway, I'm exhausted....my arms/legs hurt from the ride and I'm headed to bed with my new book. :o)
Love, Ang

What a fun day and so much to see -- I've yet to see wild horses like that.
